At The Play Plot, we believe great play doesn’t have to be elaborate. Give kids something that sparks their curiosity, gets their hands busy, and leaves room for imagination, and they’ll take it from there.

The trouble is, creating those experiences can take a surprising amount of work, from planning the activities, to sourcing supplies, to finding the right moments. Sometimes you just want to make a little magic happen without having to make everything happen.

That’s where The Play Plot comes in.

We create thoughtfully designed party kits and activity kits that make it easier to give kids engaging, hands-on experiences.

Our party kits help take the overwhelm out of hosting. Each one comes with everything you need, including invitations, decor, host guide, and materials and supplies. We drop it off at your home in Calgary and pick up the returnable parts when you're finished.

Our activity kits bring that same thoughtful approach to everyday play. Dig for hidden treasures, build a tiny sensory world, create with playdough, paint something worth displaying and more. Everything is prepped and ready to go, so kids can get straight to the good part (and so can you).

Behind The Play Plot

Hi, I’m Meredith.

I’m a facilitator and curriculum designer by trade, which means I’ve spent much of my career thinking about how to create experiences that keep people curious, engaged and learning.

The Play Plot started when I realized just how much I loved using those same skills to create experiences for kids in my own home. I also saw the other side: busy parents who wanted to create memorable experiences for their kids but didn’t necessarily have the time (or desire) to spend hours scrolling for ideas, sourcing supplies and prepping activities.

The Play Plot brings me a lot of joy, whimsy, and fulfillment. I hope it can bring something special to you, too.
